Saud Advogados will be the controller of your personal data within the scope of the relationship established with you, limited to the data to which Saud Advogados has had access pursuant to this Privacy Notice. For the purposes of Law No. 13,709/2018 (General Data Protection Law – “LGPD”), the controller is the party responsible for taking decisions regarding the processing of personal data.

4. Personal Data We Collect
To carry out our internal administrative activities and provide legal services to our clients, Saud Advogados may collect personal data within the following categories, depending on the nature of your relationship with Saud Advogados and/or the nature of the legal services retained:
- Identification and contact data: full name; address; date of birth; nationality; gender; identity documents (such as general identification number, tax-ID number, driver’s license, bar association registration); registration number with professional or class entities; email address; phone number; IP address;
- Professional and academic data: current employment; profession; job position; educational background;
- Financial information: bank account details for payment purposes and other financial information that is publicly available, shared by our clients or third parties, or contained in judicial, administrative, or arbitral proceedings;
- Family and personal relationship information: data related to family structure and personal relationships, including information publicly available on social media platforms;
- Information contained in judicial, administrative, and arbitral proceedings: such as date of birth, nationality, place of birth, age, marital status, country, address, general identification number, tax-ID number, driver’s license, voter registration, military enlistment, profession, educational background, languages, professional registration, social security information (PIS/PASEP, CTPS, NIS, NIT, CEI), and certificates and background check records in criminal, civil, and administrative proceedings issued by public entities and authorities.
The personal data listed above is processed only in specific cases and when necessary to achieve the purposes described below in this Privacy Notice. Saud Advogados may collect such personal data through various means, including directly from the data subject, from someone related to the data subject (such as the company that you work and that retains our legal services), or through publicly accessible sources or licit tools that capture publicly accessible data.
5. Purposes of Personal Data Processing
To protect your privacy, we limit the processing of personal data to the minimum necessary. In general, we process your personal data to provide legal services in both consultancy and litigation matters, to assist and manage the relationship with our clients and partners, to perform our internal administrative activities, and to comply with our legal obligations.
We may also process your personal data for the purposes of executing a contract with Saud Advogados, billing, and charging, in case you are a client or a representative of a legal entity client.
If you are an employee, supplier, service provider, or other partner of Saud Advogados, we may process your personal data for the purposes of executing a contract with Saud Advogados, making payments, and other matters related to the establishment and management of the partnership, as well as for compliance with legal or regulatory obligations related to the partnership or the contract.
Furthermore, Saud Advogados may process personal data for the purpose of maintaining our relationship with clients, partners, and other stakeholders through:
- Sending institutional communications, emails, articles, newsletters, news, and alerts related to our legal services and activities;
- Sending invitations to events, meetings, and seminars;
- Conducting satisfaction surveys and collection of feedback on our legal services and initiatives.
Moreover, if you are a client or a representative of a legal entity client, Saud Advogados may provide your personal data (name, email address, phone number, job title, and company) to national or international legal publications/rankings so they can contact you for the evaluation and reference of our legal services.
6. How Do We Access Your Personal Data?
Saud Advogados may collect personal data in different ways and under various circumstances, always limiting the processing of personal data to the minimum necessary to achieve the specific purpose of the processing. In general, we collect personal data when:
- You contact Saud Advogados (via email, telephone, social media, mail, through our website, or in person at our office) to request information about our legal services or activities in general;
- During the course of our relationship with our clients and partners, or with natural persons who are representatives of our legal entity clients and partners;
- Our clients share their own personal data that is necessary for the performance and management of a contract with Saud Advogados and/or for the provision of legal services on their behalf;
- Our legal entity clients share personal data of their representatives and employees that is necessary for the performance and management of a contract with Saud Advogados and/or for the provision of legal services on their behalf;
- Our clients (both natural persons and legal entities) share personal data of third parties that is necessary for the provision of legal services on their behalf, including under judicial, administrative, and arbitral proceedings, as well as legal consultancy services;
- Our employees or partners that are natural persons share their own personal data or, in the case of legal entity partners, the personal data of their employees, that is necessary for the execution and management of a contract with Saud Advogados and/or for the provision of services and related activities in favor of Saud Advogados;
- You visit our office to attend meetings or events;
- You participate in recruitment processes for employment at Saud Advogados.
Saud Advogados may also collect personal data from third parties through publicly accessible sources, public databases, social media platforms, or tools that capture publicly available data for the purpose of providing legal services to our clients in consultancy or litigation matters or for the promotion of our institutional activities.
Saud Advogados also collects personal data through cookies when the data subject visits our website (such as IP address and information about accessed pages). 7. Sharing of Personal Data
To fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, and depending on the nature of your relationship with Saud Advogados and/or the legal services retained, we may share certain personal data with:
- Software providers, cloud hosting services, and other information technology providers for the purposes of managing your relationship with our firm, registration, documentation, and related procedures, as well as to enable the provision of legal services retained by our clients;
- Billing and collection service providers;
- Our clients, correspondents, experts, legal opinion providers, partner law firms (national and international), auditors, accountants, consultants, translators, financial institutions, and information/forensic technology companies, to support the provision of legal services retained by our clients or to comply with our clients’ legal or regulatory obligations;
- Public entities and authorities from the Judicial, Executive, and Legislative branches, as well as regulatory agencies, in Brazil or abroad, to enable the provision of legal services retained by our clients or to comply with legal or regulatory obligations of Saud Advogados or our clients;
- National or international legal publications.
8. International Data Transfer
Saud Advogados may transfer your personal data to service providers located abroad, including cloud service providers and other service providers when necessary to assist with the legal services retained by our clients. Additionally, Saud Advogados may share your personal data with partner law firms located abroad to assist with the legal services retained by our clients.
If Saud Advogados transfers your personal data outside of Brazil, we will take appropriate and necessary measures to ensure the adequate protection of your personal data in compliance with the requirements of the applicable data protection legislation.
9. How Do We Store Your Personal Data?
Your personal data will be stored and protected in accordance with the provisions of the LGPD and the regulatory standards and guidelines issued by the National Data Protection Authority (“ANPD”).
We store your personal data: (i) for the time necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation or a judicial, administrative, or arbitral decision; (ii) until the completion of the personal data processing, as analyzed below; (iii)for the time necessary to preserve Saud Advogados’ legitimate interests, as applicable; (iv)for the time necessary to safeguard the regular exercise of Saud Advogados’ rights in judicial, administrative, or arbitral proceedings.
The termination of personal data processing will occur in the following cases: (i) when the purpose of the data processing has been achieved and/or when the collected personal data is no longer necessary or relevant to fulfill such purpose; (ii) the end of the processing period, as applicable; (iii) when the data subject lawfully exercises the right to request the termination of processing and the deletion of their personal data; and (iv) when there is a judicial, administrative, or arbitral order determining the termination of processing. After the termination of processing, personal data may be deleted. Saud Advogados reserves the right to retain personal data for the period deemed necessary, in its interpretation, to safeguard its rights.
10. How Do We Protect Your Personal Data?
Saud Advogados is committed to the security of your personal data and applies technical and administrative security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access and accidental or unlawful situations of destruction, loss, alteration, communication, or any form of improper or unlawful processing, in accordance with the provisions of the LGPD and other information security standards and guidelines issued by the ANPD and other regulatory authorities.
11. Rights of Data Subjects
The LGPD provides that you, as the data subject, may exercise the following rights at any time and upon prior request:
- confirmation of the existence of the processing;
- access to the data;
- correction of incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data;
- anonymization, blocking, or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data, or data processed in violation of the provisions of the LGPD;
- portability of the data to another service or product provider, upon express request, in accordance with the rules of the national authority, respecting trade and industrial secrets;
- deletion of personal data processed with the consent of the data subject;
- information about public and private entities with which the controller has shared data;
- information about the possibility of not providing consent and the consequences of refusal;
- revocation of consent;
- opposition to the processing based on one of the exemptions from consent, in case of non-compliance with the provisions of the LGPD.
In certain cases, the exercise of the rights mentioned above – including the right to access personal data and/or confirmation of the existence of the processing – may be denied or restricted due to Saud Advogados’ legal obligation to maintain professional confidentiality in its relationships with clients (attorney-client privilege), as provided by Law No. 8,906/1994 (The Brazilian Bar Association’s Statute) and the Brazilian Bar Association’s Code of Ethics and Discipline, or due to other legal or regulatory obligations of Saud Advogados to maintain the confidentiality of personal data.
To exercise any of the rights established in the LGPD, you must send the respective request to our Data Protection Officer, Luís Gustavo Sant’Anna Simões Vagos, via email at encarregado@saudlaw.com. Our Data Protection Officer will inform you about the procedure and requirements for exercising these rights, response deadlines, how we will make your right effective, and will address any questions, complaints, or comments you may have.
